Treating nail fungus and athlete's foot yourself.

A fungal nail infection is very common, especially on the feet. Statistically, one in two people suffer from athlete's foot. The medical term is onychomycosis.
A fungal nail infection doesn't seem dangerous in itself , but it can be unsightly. Women often cover it with a layer of nail polish to conceal it, but without treatment, the nail can become even more brittle, even crumbling . Then it's no longer possible to hide the fungal nail infection under a layer of nail polish. It's also very contagious and can spread to other areas of your body. So, I recommend reading on to learn how to treat it and prevent its spread.

How do you recognize a fungal nail?

A fungal nail has a yellowish, greenish to brown discoloration . It can become thicker and is often called a chalky nail.

Fungus can also develop outside of the nail, for example, in open skin between the toes, also known as athlete's foot , peeling soles of the feet, or blisters between the fingers . Even if you have wounds , the fungus can spread inside your body . This often causes physical symptoms that, at first glance, are not linked to the presence of a fungus.

What causes a fungal nail?

A fungal nail infection isn't dangerous, but it is contagious . People with weakened immune systems, diabetes, and other conditions are particularly susceptible.

How can you treat a fungal nail?

You can treat a fungal nail on your toes and hands with the nail tincture spray . This allows you to easily treat your fungal nail(s) and nail discoloration yourself by simply spraying it on, around, and under your nail . It delivers good results; it just requires some patience, as depending on the condition of your current nail, it can take anywhere from several weeks to several months for the fungus to completely disappear.

How often do I repeat the treatment?

For treatment, it's recommended to spray twice a day . For maintenance and preventative purposes, you can spray once a day up to a few times a week.

How does the treatment take place?

In this video, I show you how to apply the spray. If you're not wearing nail polish, you can simply spray it on top of your toenails. If you are wearing nail polish, it's more efficient to spray a little under your nails. The product is very fluid, so it easily absorbs under and around your nail .

Shake the spray well before use. Spray from about 2.5cm away and let it sit for 10 to 15 seconds . It applies and dries quickly , so you can put it on your socks and/or shoes right away.

How do I make this a routine so I don't forget?

You can only achieve optimal results by using the product consistently! Spray twice a day until the discoloration is completely gone .

It takes seconds. Put the spray next to your toothbrush , or wherever you have a reminder for yourself and it's always convenient to give it a quick spritz, or in your shoe closet , every time before you put on your shoes and when you take them off, just spritz...

Can I use nail polish on fungal nails?

Normally, it's recommended not to paint fungal nails . But I understand that you like to paint your nails, and even more so because they're a bit discolored and you don't want everyone to see it.

That's why I always recommend not painting them as much as possible . If you do paint them, perhaps remove them after a few days. If you do want to keep them painted, reapply your nail polish regularly. Ideally, use the same bottle each time and throw it away once the fungal nail is gone .

Because it's possible that particles of fungus from your nail have been transferred to your nail polish by your brush. If you stop using it on your healthy nails, you prevent it from transferring back.

Autumn and winter are the ideal periods not to paint your nails and to do an intensive treatment.

Other tips that are good to pay attention to with fungal nails:

Change your socks every day , wash them at least at 60° (30° or 40° is an ideal breeding ground for fungi) and ensure your shoes are well ventilated , disinfect them and preferably wear a different pair of shoes every day so that you can alternate.

How do you treat the other fungi on your hands and feet?

Fungus also often occurs on the soles of the feet , which can cause them to peel . For this, the peeling skin foot mousse is recommended. If they are also extremely itchy and feel rough, the rough skin foot mousse is a better choice for you.

Fungus between the toes , flakes, open skin, this is also called swimmer's eczema, can also be treated with the peeling skin foot mousse .

There are many products on the market for discolored or damaged nails. How do I know which Footlogix nail tincture spray is the best?

Some products, often containing ingredients like acetic acid, work by changing the nail's acidity (pH level) to make the nail environment unfavorable for fungus. These can be effective, but results are often temporary if the underlying cause isn't completely addressed.

The Footlogix Nail Tincture Spray I recommend tackles the problem differently. It contains a specific ingredient, such as Clotrimazole, that specifically stops fungal growth .

The major advantage of the Footlogix approach is the combination of this effective ingredient with nourishing ingredients (such as avocado oil and panthenol) and the convenient spray application. This ensures that:

  • The fungus is effectively combated.
  • The nail and surrounding skin are cared for at the same time, which improves the appearance and supports recovery.
  • The product can be applied easily, even in hard-to-reach places.

Regardless of which type of product you choose, remember that consistency is key. Nails need time to grow out healthily, so follow the treatment faithfully for several months for best results.
