How to choose
A scrub, peel or gommage removes dead skin cells. Your skin feels softer, looks more even and your serum and cream can do their job better. Here you’ll find them from PCA Skin, Mokosh, Institut Esthederm and Self.
How to choose:
- Sensitive skin: a gentle scrub such as the PCA Skin Daily Exfoliant or the Mokosh active face scrub, once a week.
- Blemishes and enlarged pores: the PCA Skin Pore Refining Treatment, which combines grains and acids, or the Institut Esthederm Crème douce désincrustante.
- Prefer a mask: the Masque Gomme Clarifiant, the PCA Skin Purifying mask or the Mokosh fig & charcoal mask.
- A professional treatment at home: the PCA Skin Enzyme peel at-home kit.
For your body, choose the Mokosh salt body scrubs. Not sure what suits your skin? Take the free skin analysis.
Frequently asked questions
Everything you want to know
How often should I use a face scrub?
1 to 2 times a week is enough. Sensitive skin is better off with once a week and a gentle formula. Scrubbing more damages your skin barrier and makes your skin drier and more sensitive.
What is the difference between a scrub and a peel?
A scrub buffs away dead skin cells with grains. A chemical peel dissolves them with acids such as AHA or BHA, without rubbing. The PCA Skin Pore Refining Treatment combines both.
When do I use a scrub in my routine?
After cleansing, on damp skin. Massage gently in circles, rinse well, then apply your toner, serum and cream.
My skin is red after scrubbing, what am I doing wrong?
You are probably scrubbing too hard or too often. Gentle circles are enough. If your skin reacts often, switch to a milder scrub and give your skin a rest.
