How to choose
A beautiful manicure starts and ends with the right layer. A base coat protects your nail from staining by dark polish and gives the colour grip, a top coat seals the colour and adds shine.
How to choose:
- Soft or damaged nails: the Mii Cosmetics boost + benefit base coat or preserve + protect base coat, both also nail hardeners.
- Thin, peeling nails: the Mii Cosmetics strong + stable base coat.
- Ridges in your nail: the Alessandro spa nail care ridge filler smooths the surface.
- Fast drying: the Mii Cosmetics gloss + go fastdrying topcoat or shine + shield turbo dry topcoat.
- Shine: the Alessandro gelactic top coat.
Tip: add an extra layer of top coat mid-week and your polish stays beautiful a few days longer. Colour is in nail polish.
Frequently asked questions
Everything you want to know
What is a base coat for?
It protects your nail from staining, gives the colour something to grip and smooths the surface. Always use it, even with light shades.
Can I use a base coat as a top coat?
No. A base coat has more grip so the polish adheres, a top coat forms a harder, protective layer. Use both.
How do I make my nail polish last longer?
Base coat, two thin coats of colour and a top coat, plus an extra layer of top coat mid-week. Wear gloves when washing up.
