Pedicure treatment - Do your own foot care at home (summer-proof!)

I will teach you How to do your own pedicure at home . Unless you're really struggling with calluses or ingrown toenails, it's best to visit a specialized pedicure occasionally. You can do the rest at home. Or you can postpone your professional pedicure and get help if needed, and also ensure beautifully groomed feet between pedicures.

I'll show you how to do this in this video, and below I'll provide the step-by-step plan.

The step-by-step plan for the perfect pedicure at home:

Step 1: Remove any old nail polish first

Of nail polish remover without acetone can you remove nail polish residue from your toenails.

Step 2: Relaxing foot bath

You can choose how long you want to relax in the foot bath, you can add a product specifically for this purpose foot bath , or the body scrub from Self  You can also use it as bath salts.

Step 3: Scrub feet

After a few minutes you take some scrub To exfoliate your feet. This removes dead skin cells that can make the skin on your feet look dull. It's also good between your toes, on your toes, and around your ankles.
Then rinse and dry your feet thoroughly.

Step 4: Cutting the toenails

Make sure you never cut your toenails too short; you should leave at least 1mm of white edge. You're often tempted to cut them as short as possible, but this isn't good for ingrown toenails. Cut them straight across and round the corners slightly. Cut them with sturdy cutting pliers .

Step 5: File nails

You can with a nail file round off the corners a bit.

Step 6: Push back the cuticle

Then you gently push back your cuticle with a cuticle pusher .

Step 7: Caring for toenails

Disinfect your nails with the tincture spray , against nail infections, discoloured nails, against fungus and as a preventative measure against nail fungus.

Step 8: Removing calluses

Then we will remove your calluses with a Callus softening spray and foot rasp , do this very gently! It's better to repeat weekly than to remove too much at once. Calluses also protect your feet, so you don't have to remove them all; a nice protective layer is fine.

Step 9: Massage your feet and legs

If you'd like, you can start by giving your feet and lower legs a massage with the Footlogix Massage Formula . Massaging your feet and lower legs stimulates blood circulation and promotes relaxation.

Step 10: Caring for your feet

Provide your feet with extra moisture and care Foot mousse or cream , I always apply this before painting my nails, because then my pedicure is finished and I can do something else while my nail polish dries, and certainly not accidentally rub my freshly painted nails.

Step 11: Degrease nails

To ensure that no residue of scrub or foot mousse remains on my nails, I always degrease them first before applying nail polish. This can be done with a nail cleanser or just have a look at it nail polish remover (make sure that it is sufficiently degreased and does not leave a layer behind).

Step 12: Paint nails

Then you can I always put kleenex between my toes to keep my nails from hitting my toes and causing my nail polish to smudge.

I always apply 2 thin coats of nail polish, a clear one lactic top coat layer on top, so that it really keeps a nice shine until my next pedicure and then spray it with the gelactic spray so that it dries faster.

Nail polish stays on your toenails longer because they wear out less and sit in less water. Toenails grow slower than fingernails, but the color often becomes a bit duller. With this nail polish from Alessandro and the gelactic top coat, my nail polish really stays beautiful for weeks!

And then let it dry nicely!
