Preferably in the evening. Retinol is sensitive to light, and your colour develops calmly while you sleep. During the day, stick to your usual skincare with an SPF.
Yes. Retinol can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Apply an SPF of at least 30 every day, even when it's cloudy, such as the this is sun face cream SPF50. The tan itself does not protect.
Build it up, especially if you are not used to retinol yet. Start 2 to 3 times a week and move to every day if your skin tolerates it well. At first your skin may feel a little drier, that usually fades.
Don't combine it on the same evening with a scrub or an acid.
The colour builds day by day. Happy with it? Then alternate with your usual serum without self tanner. That way you maintain your complexion without going deeper.
