How to choose
Alessandro Striplac is gel polish you apply yourself at home and cure under an LED lamp. After 10 to 14 days you simply peel it off, without acetone and without damaging your nails. LLN.beauty is an official Alessandro Striplac stockist, with more than 120 colours.
The Striplac step-by-step guide:
Step 1 Preparing nails
Trim nails, file nails, push back cuticles. Alessandro says you should buff the nails to a shine with a polishing file, but in my own experience, Striplac lasts longer if you buff them matte with a nail buffer. You will find out for yourself what works best for your nails, or you can alternate. Afterwards, remove the filing dust with a manicure brush.
Step 2 Degreasing nails
Degrease the nails with the nail cleanser. Only do this for the hand you are starting with; do the other hand just before you start on it. This ensures there are no skin oils left on the nail plate when you apply the color.
Step 3 Applying color
Choose from over 120 Striplac colors. Apply a thin layer and place your hand under the LED lamp for 60 seconds. Repeat if necessary. With Striplac, you do not need to use a base coat.
Step 4 Applying top coat
Apply a layer of top coat, either glossy, matte, or with glitter. Also place under the lamp for 60 seconds.
Step 5 Removing the sticky layer
After curing, a sticky layer remains. This is normal. Remove it with the nail cleanser or use the glossy finish for extra shine.
Step 6 Hand care
As the final step, apply cuticle oil and hand cream.

How long does Striplac last?
On average 10 to 14 days, for some even 3 weeks. If you do it on Friday or Saturday, you will normally keep it for at least 2 weekends. Does it last a shorter time? That is usually due to the preparation. Degrease your nails well before you start and ensure there is no cream or oil on them. That really makes the biggest difference. Still having trouble? Then read the tips on why Striplac peels off.
What is the difference between Striplac and regular gel polish?
Striplac is a peel or soak off; you can soak it off but you can also peel it off. Regular gel polish systems are always soak off and should never be peeled off, because then you damage your nail. If you do it gently (lightly file, soak briefly, gently peel from the cuticle to the tip), it comes off without damage.
Should I file my nails matte or shiny for Striplac?
Alessandro says polish to a shine. But honestly? In my own experience, Striplac lasts longer if you buff them matte with a nail buffer. Try it yourself and see what works for you. Degreasing afterwards is mandatory regardless.
Do I need an expensive lamp?
You need an LED or UV lamp, but it doesn't have to be expensive. 60 seconds per layer is the standard for Striplac. Make sure you keep your nails well under the lamp so that everything cures properly. View the lamps compatible with Striplac.
