Ellen’s advice
How to choose
This collection is for skin that turns red quickly, stings or reacts to heat, cold, wind or the wrong products. Often the skin barrier is weakened. A calm routine with soothing ingredients such as niacinamide (vitamin B3), azelaic acid and plant extracts makes your skin less reactive with consistent use.
Build your routine:
- Cleanse: a gentle cleanser, such as PCA Creamy Cleanser, Esthederm Lait Démaquillant Désensibilisant or Self Gentle Purifying Cleanser.
- Serum: PCA Anti-Redness Serum or Dual Action Redness Relief, or Routinely Barrier Boost B3, Soothing 5-Plant Extract or 360° Azelaic Acid.
- Moisturiser: PCA ReBalance or the Mokosh Young soothing and regenerating face cream.
- SPF: every morning, for example PCA Sheer Tint SPF45 or Esthederm No Sun Mineral SPF50+.
Avoid alcohol, fragrance and harsh scrubs. To camouflage redness straight away, use the Make Up For Ever Redness Correcting Primer. Not sure which routine suits your skin? Take the free skin analysis.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you want to know
Why does my skin turn red so easily?
Because your skin barrier is weakened or the blood vessels in your skin are more sensitive. Heat, cold, wind, alcohol, spicy food, stress or the wrong products can trigger redness. Get to know your triggers before you build a routine.
What is couperose and can you do anything about it?
Couperose means small, visible blood vessels just under the skin, usually on the cheeks and nose. The right products reduce redness and limit further damage. Making them disappear completely is only possible with a professional treatment.
Do you need SPF every day with red skin?
Yes. UV rays are one of the biggest triggers of redness. Apply a light, fragrance-free SPF every morning as the last step of your routine.
