How to choose
Blemishes form when oil and dead skin cells clog your pores. With a calm, consistent routine you’ll see a difference after 4 to 6 weeks. Here you’ll find care from PCA Skin, Mokosh, Institut Esthederm and Self.
How to choose:
- Cleanse: the PCA Skin Facial Wash oily / problem or Blemish Control Bar, or the Mokosh Young face wash gel.
- A targeted serum: the PCA Skin Acné Gel or the Mokosh Young smart drops.
- Hydrate without heaviness: PCA Skin Clearskin or HydraMatte.
- A deep-cleansing mask: the PCA Skin Detoxifying Mask.
- During the day: PCA Skin Weightless protection SPF 45.
With acne involving cysts or deep inflammation, I recommend seeing a dermatologist as well. Want to know what your skin needs? Take the free skin analysis.
Frequently asked questions
Everything you want to know
What is the best way to tackle blemishes?
Cleanse twice a day with a gentle cleanser that suits your skin and add a targeted serum. Don’t cleanse too hard, as that leads to more oil. Give your routine at least 4 to 6 weeks.
Why do my spots keep coming back?
Because of hormonal changes, the wrong products, too little exfoliation or genetics. A good routine reduces how often and how badly they return, but takes patience.
What is the difference between blemishes and acne?
Blemishes are blackheads, clogged pores and the odd spot. Acne means regular inflammation, cysts or deep spots. In that case, see a dermatologist too.
Can I squeeze my spots?
Better not. Squeezing damages your skin and increases the risk of scars and pigmentation. Use a targeted spot treatment or a mask instead.
